Hack2BRIDGE Competition for Innovation in Tourism and the Cultural & Creative Industries
New Metropolitan Attica SA actively supported the European Hack2BRIDGE competition under its auspices, with the Competitiveness & Entrepreneurship Observatory represented on the evaluation committee.
As part of its strategic commitment to promoting innovation and entrepreneurship in the Region of Attica, New Metropolitan Attica SA granted its official support to the Greek edition of Hack2BRIDGE, a European competition bringing together technology, creativity and sustainable development.
The event took place on May 16–17, 2025, at the premises of egg – enter grow go in Athens, and was organized by Corallia, in collaboration with egg – enter grow go, the Regional Development Fund of Attica (PTAA), and the Attica Region Innovation Hub – InnovationAttica, under the umbrella of the EU project BRIDGESMEs.
The Hack2BRIDGE competition fostered the connection of innovation and entrepreneurship, with a focus on the Tourism and Cultural & Creative Industries (CCI) sectors. It promoted cross-sectoral collaboration, expert mentoring and the exchange of creative ideas, resulting in practical proposals addressing today’s social, technological and environmental challenges.
Participants — startups, SMEs, students, professionals, and researchers — worked alongside experienced mentors to develop solutions within five key thematic areas:
- Personalized Tourism Experiences
- Sustainable, Resilient and Circular Tourism
- Digital Guides and Cultural Routes (VR/AR/XR)
- Digital Transformation in Tourism Governance and Operations
- Gamification of Cultural Content
The event featured keynote speeches, networking activities and an intensive project development phase. Final proposals were presented to an expert jury, after which there was an awards ceremony.
All teams had access to:
- A pre-acceleration program provided by egg
- An intensive 4-day entrepreneurship training through the STARTAB Programme
- Networking opportunities with investors and business leaders
The three teams that made it to the final received special cash prizes and direct admission to the egg startup accelerator’s competitive Acceleration Platform.
The Development Organization of the Region of Attica, New Metropolitan Attica SA, reaffirms its commitment to supporting initiatives that foster innovation, entrepreneurship and digital transformation through active participation and strategic collaboration.
