New Metropolitan Attica | Introducing a new Regional Development Organization
“New Metropolitan Attica SA” constitutes a Local Administration Development Organization of the Region of Attica, established by Attica Regional Council Resolutions 280/2020 and 281/2020 (at the meeting of 25th November 2020), having commenced operation in January 2021.
By utilizing the new legal framework (law 4674/2020:Government Gazette 53A/11.03.2020 and law 4690/2020: Government Gazette 104A/30.05.2020), the Region proceeded with the creation of “New Metropolitan Attica SA” – with the co-operation of the Regional Development Fund of Attica Region and the City of Athens as minority shareholders – with the aim of creating a powerful developmental tool for the Region and its Municipalities and contributing to the promotion of broader developmental targets and priorities.
“New Metropolitan Attica SA” provides the Region and its Municipalities, as well as more broadly, the A and B level Local Government Administrations, their divisions, legal entities and collaborative bodies, with scientific, consultative and technical support services for planning, promotion, maturation and performance of projects and interventions with a positive developmental, socio-economic and environmental impact.

“New Metropolitan Attica SA” has already taken preparatory steps towards participating in the management of co-financed projects and programmes as a beneficiary and/or in planning agreements for the provision of services to third parties (Local Government Administrations, their divisions, legal entities and collaborative bodies), under the framework of its nine Action Pillars.
