Implementation of sub-project 14, entitled "Provision of Advisory Support Services to the Region of Attica for Monitoring and Participating in the Shaping of Cohesion Policy beyond 2027", under the project "Support Studies for the Region of Attica on the Specialisation of Development Priorities and Specific Actions during the 2021–2027 Programming Period."

The Development Organisation, New Metropolitan Attica S.A., has launched the implementation of a contract to support the Region of Attica in monitoring developments and participating in the process of shaping the European Union's Cohesion Policy beyond 2027. The contract is being delivered by a specialised consultancy firm.

Cohesion Policy is one of the European Union's principal funding frameworks for its regions, supporting initiatives that promote regional development, social cohesion, competitiveness, green transition and stronger administrative capacity. As preparations begin for the next programming period, it is essential to monitor European-level discussions at an early stage and assess the emerging policy directions.

Within the framework of the project, data on the relevant institutional and policy developments at both European and national level will be collected and assessed. At the same time, the Region of Attica will be supported in comprehending and assimilating these developments and preparing sound, informed proposals that reflect its development needs and strategic priorities.

The contract covers the collection and assessment of relevant data on developments at European and national level, as well as support for the Region of Attica in preparing timely, evidence-based positions and proposals.

The contract is structured around two main work streams:

1. Review and Presentation of the Current State of Play

An overview of the discussions held to date on Cohesion Policy beyond 2027, the key policy directions emerging at European Union level and the next stages of the relevant decision-making process.

2. Ongoing Monitoring of Developments and Support to the Region of Attica

Continuous monitoring of decisions, proposals and regulatory developments relating to the new Cohesion Policy, regular briefings for the Region of Attica, and support in formulating positions and proposals on programming, funding, management and cooperation.

The implementation of the project strengthens the Region of Attica's timely and systematic preparation for the next programming period while supporting its active participation in the relevant European and national policy dialogue.

Sub-project 14, entitled "Provision of Advisory Support Services to the Region of Attica for Monitoring and Participating in the Shaping of Cohesion Policy beyond 2027", is being implemented under the project "Support Studies for the Region of Attica on the Specialisation of Development Priorities and Specific Actions during the 2021–2027 Programming Period" (OPS Code: 6006487). The project is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) under the priority of strengthening the competitiveness and outward orientation of the regional economy through the "Attica 2021–2027" Programme.
