Study For The Redevelopment Of The Pedestrian Walkways In Keratsini-Drapetsona
The Development Organization “New Metropolitan Attica S.A.” provides study services to the Municipality of Keratsini–Drapetsona.
New Metropolitan Attica S.A. is undertaking, through a Programmatic Agreement with the Municipality of Keratsini–Drapetsona, the preparation of the study entitled: “Redevelopment of the Pedestrian Walkways along Grigoriou Lambraki Street in Keratsini.”
Grigoriou Lambraki Street is one of the municipality’s main thoroughfares, linking the port of Drapetsona with the Municipality of Nikaia.
The project involves the preparation of a study with the aim of redeveloping the walkways and central reservation of Grigoriou Lambraki Street—from its intersection with Schistou Avenue to Marathonomachon Street, at the border between Keratsini and Nikaia. The area is in need of pavement replacement, upgraded street lighting, new planting, and improved accessibility for persons with disabilities, including those with visual or mobility challenges.
Specifically, New Metropolitan Attica S.A. has undertaken the preparation of the following studies:
- Special Architectural Study
- Electromechanical Study
- Landscaping Study (Green Infrastructure)
- Preparation of the Health & Safety Plan (HSP) and Health & Safety File (HSF),
- Preparation of the Project’s Tender Documents.
It is important to note that the walkway redevelopment project on Grigoriou Lambraki Street does not involve any intervention on the vehicular carriageway or the boundaries between vehicle lanes and pedestrian areas. Beyond improving pedestrian safety, the upgraded public space is also expected to serve as a local recreational area for the residents of the municipality.
The preparation and approval of the study is expected to be completed by June 2023.
