New Metropolitan Attica S.A. launches the study for the project: “Cadastral Mapping – Urban Plan Amendment – Supplementary Implementation Act for the Riparian Area of the 5th Urban Planning Unit of Nea Makri.”

The Municipality of Marathon prioritizes the inclusion of the riparian zone of the 5th Urban Planning Unit of Nea Makri into the approved city plan, now taking into consideration the officially approved boundaries of the “Vazana” stream.

Following the ratification of the Implementation Act for the 5th Urban Planning Unit in 2002—excluding the riparian area — significant issues have arisen regarding the restoration of expropriated properties, the utilization of citizens’ assets, and the overall functionality of the urban planning design.

To address these challenges, the Development Organization New Metropolitan Attica S.A. of the Region of Attica has signed a Programmatic Agreement with the Municipality of Marathon for the technical support of the project entitled: “Cadastral Mapping – Urban Plan Amendment – Supplementary Implementation Act for the Riparian Area of the 5th Urban Planning Unit of Nea Makri.”

The project aims to carry out the necessary actions for:

1. Cadastral mapping and topographic surveying of the riparian area intended for urban development within the 5th Urban Planning Unit of Nea Makri,
2. Preparation of the revised urban planning study,
3. Preparation of the supplementary implementation act,
4. Obtaining all necessary approvals required for project completion.

New Metropolitan Attica S.A. will be responsible for the drafting, review and approval of the study. Should the development of the project reveal any new requirements or findings that necessitate adjustments, the Agreement will be amended accordingly, in compliance with relevant legislation.
