New Metropolitan Attica S.A. undertakes the preparation of a redevelopment study for the Agios Nikolaos Port area in the Municipality of Keratsini–Drapetsona.

The purpose of the study is the aesthetic and functional upgrading of the area, based on the principles of bioclimatic architecture and the integration of renewable energy sources (RES).

The Programmatic Agreement signed between the Municipality of Keratsini–Drapetsona and the Local Government Development Organization “NEW METROPOLITAN ATTICA S.A.” aims to provide technical support to the Municipality’s Directorate of Technical Services and includes the provision of services for the study entitled: “Redevelopment of the Agios Nikolaos Port Area in Keratsini.”

The key objectives of the study, which is being implemented for the benefit of both local residents and the wider Attica public, include:

• Ensuring connectivity with the adjacent areas (the renovated factory units of “Naftha” and Charavgi Keratsiniou).
• Securing unobstructed pedestrian access and movement for all users, including individuals with disabilities.
• Integrating and redesigning the area surrounding the quayside Church of Agios Nikolaos.
• Highlighting its naturally scenic coastline and longstanding maritime tradition.
• Creating seating and rest areas for visitors.
• Tending to and enhancing existing flora.
• Redesigning the existing playground area.
• Upgrading the public lighting network.

The estimated timeframe for the completion of the study is 10 months.
