Summer Camps of the Holy Metropolis of Nikaia
Programmatic Agreement with the Region of Attica and the Holy Diocese of Nikaia for the Study of Infrastructure Improvement and Reopening of the Children's Camps of the Holy Diocese of Nikaia.
With the signing of the relevant Programmatic Agreement, the Development Organization New Metropolitan Attica S.A. undertakes the project titled:
“Study for the Improvement of Infrastructure of the Children’s Camps of the Holy Diocese of Nikaia”, funded by the Region of Attica. This initiative highlights the Region’s commitment to the health, safety and care of the citizens of Attica.
The project involves the preparation of the corresponding technical study, following a request by the Holy Diocese of Nikaia to address critical infrastructure issues at its innovative children’s camp located in Boeotia, which hosts approximately 200 children each summer. The camp is located less than an hour from Nikaia, at an altitude of 580 meters, on the northern slopes of Mount Parnitha, in the area of Prarthi, within the municipal district of Stefani – Dervenochoria, Municipality of Tanagra, Prefecture of Boeotia.
The rehabilitation and repair study for the camp—operational for over 31 years—is deemed essential both for its effective and smooth running and for ensuring the safety of the children who stay there during the spring and summer periods.
About the Camp of the Holy Diocese of Nikaia
Each year, the Holy Diocese of Nikaia invites young people from the municipalities of Nikaia, Keratsini, Perama, Korydallos, Haidari, Aigaleo, and other nearby areas in the Regional Unit of Piraeus to the camp in Stefani: It provides a paradisiacal haven for children and young people to enjoy a unique holiday experience, aiming to encourage decision-making skills and personal development through engaging activities, with fresh air and all the benefits of nature away from an urban environment.
