Study for the Integrated Territorial Investment of the Metropolitan Green Spaces of Attica
Enhancing Attica’s metropolitan green spaces to improve citizens’ daily quality of life.
The strategy for promoting the Metropolitan Green Spaces of Attica and for creating a network of smart, sustainable, and user-friendly green spaces—aligned with social needs, visitor expectations, and regional development priorities—is the objective of this study, implemented by New Metropolitan Attica SA. This effort aims to elevate these spaces to hubs of metropolitan and supra-local significance, contributing to improved urban life and environmental sustainability.
The study concerns the development of a mature strategy and complete proposal for an Integrated Territorial Investment (ITI) dedicated to green spaces across the Attica basin. It includes:

- Selection and presentation of the intervention area.
- Strategic objectives and architecture.
- Summary Action Plan.
Preparation of the Full Strategic Dossier:
- Detailed area profile and strategic context.
- Refined strategic goals and architecture.
- Detailed Action Plan.
- Comprehensive Financing Plan.
- Governance System, including institutional responsibilities and stakeholder roles.
- Public Consultation Framework.
- Risk Assessment for successful implementation.
This specific study aims to provide a clear picture of the current situation in three emblematic parks of Attica, whose role is envisaged in the near future as increasingly multifaceted, not only serving as the figurative “green lungs,” but also as spaces for the development of a wide range of activities and initiatives, with respect for the preservation of natural beauty and the protection of local flora and fauna an intrinsic part of the process.
Additionally, the study constitutes a valuable tool for dialogue, through a consultation process within an institutional framework, incorporating all the key features required for shaping the Integrated Territorial Investment (ITI) of Metropolitan Green Spaces in Attica.

At the same time, the governance objectives for the Metropolitan Green Spaces of Attica will be defined, in order to attract greater investment (both public and private), with the aim of making these parks sustainable and safe, accessible to all visitors, open to society and interconnected with each other. This will be achieved by employing modern digital technologies that will enhance the park experience and generate high added value for the wider area.
