Development of a Business Plan for the establishment and operation of the Attica Digital Transformation Center

The Local Government Development Organization “New Metropolitan Attica S.A.” has undertaken and is implementing the development of a Business Plan for the creation and operation of a Digital Transformation Center for the Region of Attica, aiming to accelerate digital advancement, promote digital innovation, and diffuse it throughout the economy and society.

At the core of this initiative lie digital solutions and actions that prioritize citizens, create new opportunities for businesses, foster the development of trustworthy technologies, and contribute to combating climate change and achieving a green transition.

The establishment of the Digital Transformation Center will support a comprehensive and multi-level advancement of digital transformation and innovation in a wide range of fields, including:

• Actions to strengthen and expand the digital services provided by the Region of Attica to citizens and businesses,
• Actions to support and accelerate the digital transition of the Municipalities of Attica,
• Promotion of digital innovation and high technology and the dissemination of their applications within the economy and society,
• Development and promotion of “smart city” networks and applications,
• Enhancement of the digital readiness and competitiveness of businesses.

In addition, the Center will serve as a reference point for innovative technological solutions proposed by the Region of Attica to the Municipalities, through the formation and management of a collaborative ecosystem of partners, startups, and academic and research institutions, focused on fields of economic and social life.

The joint implementation and support of agreed-upon digital solutions between the Region and the Municipalities will contribute to bridging the digital divide and reducing inequalities, with the overarching goal of strengthening social cohesion and improving access to the benefits of digital transition for society and its citizens.
