Study for the Creation of a Creative Economy & Culture Center
Implementation of Subproject 5, 'Consulting Support Services for the Study on the Establishment of a Creative Economy Center', within the framework of the Action 'Support Studies for the Region of Attica for the Elaboration of Development Priorities and Specific Measures during the 2021–2027 Programming Period' (OPS Code 5145430).
The Local Government Development Organization New Metropolitan Attica SA, in its capacity as scientific and technical advisor to the Region of Attica, is responsible for implementing this study on behalf of the Region and its Special Managing Authority (EYDEP). The Action is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund under the Operational Programme “Attica 2014–2020” and the Priority Axis “Technical Assistance for Implementation (ERDF)”.
The study focuses on the development of integrated infrastructure and specialized mechanisms to boost activity in the Creative Economy sector through the establishment of a Creative Economy Center.
The study is structured around four core components:
- Mapping the current state of the Creative Economy sector in the Region of Attica.
- Defining goals and strategic priorities, evaluating the feasibility of establishing and operating a Creative Economy Center, and describing its purpose and operational methodology.
- Development of a roadmap for the creation and operation of the Creative Economy Center.
- Formulation of a development and adaptation plan for the Center, focusing on its physical installation at the proposed site of the former Lysiatreio facility.
The study will provide the necessary data for analyzing the current situation regarding the Cultural and Creative Industries sector, mapping individual interventions and actions implemented in Attica—either by the Region itself or by other entities—specifying the targeted objectives and the strategy for strengthening the Creative Economy in the region.
At the same time, a preliminary development and operation plan will be drafted for the Creative Economy Center, with specific reference to its rationale and guiding philosophy, its strategic objectives, the activities it will host and/or support, the services it may provide, its ongoing networking with other actors and stakeholders in the field of the Creative Economy, as well as the organizational, operational, business and financial requirements for its development and operation at the site of the former Lysiatreio building.
The formulation of the preliminary development plan for the Creative Economy Center will relate to its physical establishment and adaptation to the proposed location at the Lysiatreio site. Within the context of the final Work Package, any completed and/or ongoing restoration or reconfiguration studies and works for the site will also be taken into consideration.
