Study on Risk Management in Schools
Implementation of Subproject 10, “Provision of consultancy support services for the development of a training programme and educational material on risk and crisis management in the school environment, including the implementation of a pilot phase,” under the Action “Support Studies for the Region of Attica for the Specialisation of Development Priorities and Specific Actions during the 2021–2027 Programming Period” (OPS Code: 5145430)
The Development Organization “New Metropolitan Attica S.A.” is undertaking the implementation of a comprehensive training and awareness programme on risk and crisis management in school environments.
The subject of the study is the design — at both national and regional level — of a programme/action for training and awareness-raising on preparedness for risk and crisis management in school settings, including its configuration and pilot implementation.
The objective of the study is to promote preparedness and awareness in order to mitigate all types of impacts from disasters and crises within the school environment — due to its vulnerability — and more broadly across society. The project includes a range of coordinated actions to achieve these goals, such as the development of innovative educational materials and an e-learning platform, the design of model emergency management drills, and more.
The ultimate goal is to formulate a proposal — based on the conclusions of the pilot implementation — for the rollout of an information and training programme across potentially all schools in the Region of Attica.
The action “Support Studies for the Region of Attica for the Specialisation of Development Priorities and Specific Actions during the 2021–2027 Programming Period” has been funded by the Operational Programme “Attica 2014–2020”, under the Priority Axis “Technical Assistance for Implementation (ERDF),” co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
The study is expected to be completed within the year.
