Execution of Basic Inspections for 108 Bridges under the Jurisdiction of the Region of Attica.

Under the Programmatic Agreement, New Metropolitan Attica S.A. will provide services for the basic inspection of bridges and the preparation of corresponding technical reports documenting any identified defects or damage.

The bridges included in this project were constructed in various periods, the earliest in  the 1960s. The total number of structures to be inspected is 108, including overpasses, underpasses and major bridges that support key arterial roads such as the National Road network.

The inspection will cover the following areas:

• Identification of any corrosion or structural damage,
• Highlighting of elements considered hazardous for the safety of bridge users or for traffic passing beneath,
• Documentation of observations and findings in a Technical Inspection Report,
• Photographic documentation of the bridge’s structural condition and any defects observed,
• Recommendations for actions to be undertaken,
• Proposal of immediate measures, if deemed necessary based on the inspection findings.

The outcome of this inspection process will include proposals for required interventions by the Region of Attica, as well as an estimated budget for the final design studies and the necessary maintenance or restoration works to follow.
